Set gently beside a 1960s Danish summerhouse, PSEUDO TWIN is both an echo and an evolution. A new annex created to serve as a guesthouse and home office, it was designed not to imitate—but to converse. Familiar in spirit, distinct in character.

The brief asked for something that could stand on its own, yet still feel part of the original story. The result is a house that mirrors without mimicking. Proportions, roof pitches, and window rhythms nod to the original architecture, respecting its clarity and calm. But the new structure is subtly lighter—more crisp, more contemporary. The overhang is slimmer. The lines more refined. A twin, perhaps - but only almost.

At 50 square meters, the annex holds everything needed to live or work in solitude: two bedrooms, a small kitchenette, and a bathroom. A self-contained retreat, shaped for both short stays and slow days. It opens up when in use—welcoming guests, inviting light, creating connection. When closed, it returns to a quieter state. The façade facing the main house folds open to become a porch and entrance, giving the structure a face, a gesture, a greeting.

Where the original house is grounded in the traditions of Danish summer living, PSEUDO TWIN brings a new rhythm. It expands the site not just in space, but in possibilities. A companion piece—not repeating the past, but writing a new chapter alongside it.
